People of the river Seine in the 18th century
Wander the banks of the Seine to the accompaniment of our ‘soundwalk’.
Meet the people that lived there in the 18th century, when the river was a focal point for life in Paris. Hear their voices, their quarrels and the sounds of daily life in that era retold through 19 audio stories.

"IT HAPPENED HERE" lets us geolocate archives. Cross-referencing them enables us to better understand history, to discover new information and to piece together the daily events that took place at a specific location. The wealth of archives is unbelievable! Archives are collected and preserved by archive centres as well as private individuals.
If you have some form of archival record that tells this story, your story, the story of your family, we would love you to send it to us so we can find out more about it.
